In 2007, over 100 people contributed to the community arts project Collecting Loss: Weaving Threads of Memory. Each person donated clothing that belonged to their deceased loved ones and the stories this clothing evoked to form the foundation for a public art memorial exhibit of textile pieces, audio recordings, photographs and print.

The catalogue provides: two essays on the project by its organizers Esther Kalaba and Karen Haffey; photos of all the contributed clothing with their accompanying stories; and photos of the original textile works created by Eshter Kalaba paired with poems by Karen Haffey.

This book bears witness to what can happen when memories are collected, transformed and given a place to gather in living, breathing form.
